South Bank Centre

This competition winning proposal took the site of Jubilee gardens as an opportunity to create a new comprehensive and larger park for central London. Sloping up from the river, it could house new cultural facilities - galleries, concert halls, meeting places - beneath it and covered with a deep layer of soil providing growth for trees and plants for this park. The slope increased the potential surface area for the park and provided graded views of the city centre.
